Faith in Action
coordinates volunteers to help older adults and children with special
needs so they can thrive at home for as long as possible.
Faith in Action
recruits, screens, and trains people from all walks of life who wish to
live out their personal faith and values through volunteerism.
Volunteers provide a variety of non-medical assistance, easing the way
of those experiencing challenges related to health or aging.
Faith in Action
creates caring community connections through the following programs:
Volunteer Caregivers
are volunteers who help older adults with a variety of chores aimed at
helping them live well at home. Services include friendly visiting,
light housekeeping, transportation to appointments and errands, yard
work, minor home repair, support and respite for family caregivers, and
library book delivery.

Family Friends
are trustworthy volunteers who befriend children with special needs in
order to promote their social and emotional wellbeing. Volunteers help
by visiting nearly every week to build friendships that bring joy,
respite, and encouragement into each child’s home.

Strong for Life
volunteers encourage and guide older adults in an easy to follow
30-minute exercise routine designed to improve strength, function, and
balance. Exercises may be done individually or in a small group.
Faith in Action supports several active classes through Newberg and
Sherwood.

Caregiver Support Groups
and a resource center are also available to anyone caring for older
adults and children with special needs.

CarrierLink
is a free service in the Newberg, Dundee, and St. Paul area for older
adults and people with disabilities who live at home. If a letter
carrier notices an accumulation of mail or other signs that suggest
something is amiss, he or she will report it to Faith in Action.
If you are unable to be reached, your emergency contacts will be
alerted.

Library book delivery
is available to home-bound older adults. Faith in Action
volunteers, in partnership with the Newberg City Library, will exchange
