  Faith in Action

   Services for Frail Elders
Volunteer Caregivers

Volunteers provide
in-home services
for older adults
needing a little bit
of assistance to live independently and
with a quality of life
which is important
to them.

Who can request services?Older adults who face challenges related to aging.

What type of services are provided?
Volunteers provide neighborly help with things such as yardwork, light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, minor home repairs or friendly visits.  They are not able to provide personal care.

Is there a charge?
There is no charge for services and volunteers will not accept payment.  However, Faith in Action welcomes donations to the program so that others may receive services.

How do you request services?
Call the Faith in Action office at 503-537-1549.  If your needs are in line with our mission, we will make a home visit and complete a recipient form.  After that initial visit, you just call the office to request services.  We appreciate a minimum of three day's notice.

      What do volunteers do?

Volunteers do things such as help older
adults with chores, drive them to
       appointments or shopping, or make
       friendly visits.

     How do I sign up?

Call or email Faith in Action for an
application or download one here.  Once
you complete the application, make an
appointment with Jill Smith for an
     orientation.
