About Faith in Action
In 1995 Providence Newberg Medical Center submitted a proposal to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for $25,000 to create an interfaith volunteer caregiving project. The Faith in Action model of volunteer caregiving was founded on the following building blocks – interfaith, volunteer, caregiving, in-home, serving people with chronic illness. In the Newberg/Dundee/ St.Paul area, volunteers help people who face challenges related to health or aging.

Is Faith in Action a religious organization?
No, Faith in Action is an interfaith organization. We provide opportunities for people of all beliefs to put their faith into action by helping others. Since many faith communities have caregiving ministries, Faith in Action works closely with them to provide opportunities and match volunteers with people in need.
